I'm new to all-grain brewing (BIAB - 2nd batch) and want to attempt a clone recipe of New Glarus' Spotted Cow. The two recipes I've found online that are highly rated are embedded below. Can anyone with more experience explain the various merits of these two? I'm very interested in the Northern Brewer recipe as it would be cheaper to produce.

The other defining characteristic to Spotted Cow is the corny, DMS type flavor. Feb 28, 2022. #8. I just had Spotted Cow the other day. Use the all grain Speckled Heifer recipe from Northern Brewer with Briess 2 row instead of Rahr and that's so close. Oh and for the yeast wlp080 fermented around 65F. Make sure to give it some lagering time in kegs/bottles before consuming.
