Sep 9, 2011, 02:00 PM EDT | Updated Jan 23, 2014. Ice cream and SNL enthusiasts were atwitter yesterday with the news that Ben & Jerry's was releasing Schweddy Balls ice cream. HuffPost Food just couldn't resist those schweddy balls, so we got our hands on a pint (okay, four actually). The flavor is a vanilla base with two kinds of balls.

Months after Alec Baldwin dropped hints that a flavor named "Schweddy Balls" was on the horizon, B&J have made it a reality.. The concoction, made of vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered rum and malt balls, got its name from an old 'Saturday Night Live' sketch win which Molly Shannon and Ana Gasteyer play low-key NPR hosts who delight in holiday confections made by eatery-owner Pete Schweddy.

Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl and season with 1 teaspoon of kosher salt. Make sure to remove any unpopped kernels now. Combine the corn syrup, sugar and water in a small saucepot. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until the syrup reaches 235 °F. Add the vanilla extract and remaining teaspoon of salt to the syrup and then, pour it.
