By the 1920s, only Wheal Kitty, West Kitty, Polberro and Wheal Friendly survived, because they were operating as a single concern. The Wheal Kitty Co. recommenced at Turnavore in 1937 and continued there until 1941. In the 1980s there was a trial carried out at Wheal Concord in the south of St. Agnes parish. Loss of mining jobs leads to mass.
