The Turken / Aloha cross hens were set loose in the pen with all the various roosters. Two roosters were Buff Sussex / Aloha crosses, and two roosters were Buff Sussex / Speckled Sussex roosters that looked just like extremely LARGE Speckled Sussex, with small spots. The goal now is to outcross the small Aloha foundation stock with five main popular laying breeds. These outcross breeds include: Speckled Sussex, New Hampshire Red, Buff Rock, Rhode Island Red, and Buff Orpington. The end goal is to create a big, hearty, dual-purpose farm breed . . . but dressed up in a very colorful package.

Aloha Chicken Breed Standard. I've needed to create a "breed standard" for ages now, but recently, a pair of Alohas were hatched that actually meet the breed standard, which certainly helps! Every hen from this next generation would have a 50/50 chance of being spotted if paired with a spotted Aloha rooster. The result of that cross would be 1/4 Bielefelder hens, with spots. The Bielefelder carries the gene for yellow legs, which makes them a great choice for pairing with the Aloha / Sussex crosses, to try and add the yellow leg gene.
